The decision to include any part of the greenbelt for current development should have allowed all owners of greenbelt land the opportunity to provide reasons why their properties should also be allowed out of the greenbelt for current development.

Specifically, Oakville has individual properties in the greenbelt on Burnhamthorpe Road that have trunk sewers on their greenbelt properties, transportation, all services and road infrastructure nearby and are probably more suited to current development than the ones chosen. The properties are generally flat with little to no trees on them, not farmed and sit uselessly idle. They also appear to be a finger extension of the main greenbelt swath traversing the GTA and would not impact the integrity of the composite greenbelt land.

These properties have proximity to existing development (in fact, adjacent lands facing these properties on the south side of Burnhamthorpe Road are currently zoned for development) with the new Oakville hospital practically in viewing distance from the greenbelt properties. Is it fair that these properties are not given the same opportunity to come out of the greenbelt at this time?

I think these properties should be currently reviewed and other properties in other areas with similar attributes and taken out of the greenbelt for housing needs now which is what is needed by families today.
