This policy betrays the government's public trust to protect the environment for the people of Ontario. Rather than protecting, it does the opposite. It furthers a backwards, destructive government agenda that is accelerating the already rampant loss of wetlands and biodiversity. Calling the removal of lands protected under the Greenbelt as "strategic" is doublespeak. This bill is nothing but a payoff to donors and developers. It exposes Doug Ford as a liar for having previously promised this would not occur and should be stopped.
