Premier Doug Ford promised not to touch the Greenvelt. Doing so would deepen the already huge chasm of distrust from the community to its provincial government. These lands aren’t just conservation, they are important ecological landscapes with rares biosystems and animals. They’re wetlands where homes should not be built. We need more housing but it need to be affordable housing that doesn’t infringe on our crucial ecosystems.
