I am absolutely disgusted…

I am absolutely disgusted with this plan. The purpose of the Greenbelt is to prevent urban sprawl and also protect the GTA from even-worsening climate change effects. By constantly cutting into the Greenbelt for the purpose of creating even more single-family dwellings, for housing that isn't even affordable for the immigrants and young people the Ford Government continually claims it is trying to help, the Ford Government is making a mockery of it's 2021 pledge to not develop the Greenbelt. The Ford Government is attempting to back-track assurances it made to the public which are now appallingly clear were only made to get re-elected that they had no intention of fulfilling. Instead of upholding this promise and helping to protect Ontarians living in the GTA from worsening climate change issues such as extreme heat and flooding (both things mitigated by having a greater greenspace-to-development ratio!), the Ford Government is clearly prioritizing corporate greed in the form of housing companies. This plan is disgusting. This plan is highlighting the amount of lies the Ford Government made leading up to the election. This plan tells the public that the Ford Government continues to work to serve corporations and not Ontarians whom actually elected them.
