This amendment is short-sight and a money grab. It will lead to further destruction of protected lands. The Ontario government needs to investigate sustainable, environmentally friendly solutions instead of rushing to destroy our lands.

There are many areas in the GTA where there are empty factories or malls that sit on huge pieces of lands. The Ontario government should re-purpose these areas into multi-use spaces with a mix of residential and commercial . The infrastructure exists but may need to re-zoned. It may be faster to build since developers don't need to clear vegetation and tie in to city utilities.
