Please do NOT remove existing Greenbelt lands. These areas sit on some of the most agriculturally-productive lands in the country. They are also important to local watersheds in preserving water quality for people who live nearby. Unlocking these lands to development will only perpetuate urban sprawl. This type of built form on greenfield lands is a highly wasteful form of development and not economically or environmentally sustainable. We can add housing in built-up urbanized areas where servicing already exists. We need to think smarter. The proposal to remove these lands from the Greenbelt is short-sighted and does not reflect a desired image of a resilient and prosperous Ontario. Greenbelt lands cannot be replaced!!!
