The conservatives during the last election said they would not touch the Greenbelt. Literally nobody voted for this, including those who voted for the current administration.
Changing zoning laws to create more density instead of single family housing is great. Creating more sprawl on the green belt (and more roads and infrastructure to maintain) is absolutely not.
