the greenbelt is a protected habitat for a reason. Chopping up and dividing this land to pave over it for mansions so that Doug Ford’s campaign financiers can get more rich is an absolutely disgusting, and disgraceful act against our land.

Not only will fragmenting the land disrupt the natural habitat of the species who exist there, paving over it to build sprawling houses will not add in any significant way to the amount of housing needed to fix the housing crisis, and will not drive down the cost of homes for those who cannot afford one.

Furthermore, investigative reporting has uncovered that there is large amounts of unused developable land that is ready for whatever suburbanization projects, Doug Ford’s buddies want to create. Opening up the floodgates of greenbelt development to these cronies is something that we will never be able to go back on.

The people are watching, just like they were with Bill 28. We will not let this happen anyways, so this whole conversation about greenbelt development is stalling the development that can be done to actually fix the housing affordability crisis we are experiencing in Ontario.
