I do not support the proposed amendments. Building residential housing on the greenbelt will contribute to urban sprawl. Zoning should be amended within cities to build on Brownfields and to focus on building up not out.
Southern Ontario has lost much of its natural environment to agriculture and residential housing. Developing the greenbelt will be harmful to the environment and Ontario’s species at risk.
The PC government promised not to touch the greenbelt and have reneged on that promise. I would not feel comfortable supporting the PC party in the future if they go through with these amendments.
