I'm deeply troubled by the proposal to pave over protected greenbelt land, ostensibly to build houses. It's a decision that makes very little sense and makes me embarrassed for our leadership. Why not expand development in areas that alread have supported infrastructure like the GTA? A place where people already have jobs and schools, where people already want to live.

This plan is such a short sighted deal that will take years and years to complete, and seems very obviously to be only in the best interest of Doug Ford and his financial backers.

Work on changing zoning bylaws to allow for more mixed use space instead of car dependant suburbs. There's a reason people want to live in parts of Toronto like Riverdale or Roncesvalles. The mix of houses and commercial space is makes for a rich living environment and ease of access to every day needs.

The blatant lack of thought towards the people of canada is disheartening, though not surprising. This government repeatedly shows how little it cares for the interests of its people. I emplore you to please strike down this thoughtless and downright idiotic proposal.

Sincerely,
Laura
