I do not support this bill…

I do not support this bill because of its expansion into the green belt, wetlands and sensitive ecological areas in Ontario. The green belt and wetlands sequester carbon and help with flood management as well as aquifer replenishment and as a resident of rural Ontario, I have a keen interest in protecting the environment. I rely on the underground aquifers for my well water supply. It is crucial we do not expand into areas that help with flood management, especially with global warming causing increasing chances of flooding. Do not allow developers to run roughshod over Ontario environment and sensitive wetlands. Instead, control the lack of housing supply by targeting corporations, foreign nationals or private investors buying property for investment. Second, third or fourth properties should be heavily taxed to disincentivize housing hoarding. Prioritize families and first time home buyers in housing sales.
