Leave the green belt alone! You platformed on not touching the green belt, and immediately rescinded that when elected by a very small portion of eligible voters. Building giant McMansions and giving developers kickbacks (that they certainly will *not* pass onto the buyers) isn't going to solve housing problems. This is so obvious that even you must see it (which suggests malice rather than incompetence in these decisions). You should be investing in more efficient urban planning and improving transit.
