This bill is an egregious attack on our environment in a time of climate breakdown. Study after study have shown there is enough land within CURRENT urban boundaries to build the required housing. We do not need 2 million dollar mansions in high flood risk lands, on prime farmlands (if you think groceries are expensive now, just wait!), on beautiful, important green spaces. Nature cannot be replaced and so proposing to "add" land after paving over what nature has done over millennia will never be a suitable response.
By overriding municipal & regional decisions, you have shown you aren't for the little people. You aren't for democracy. You aren't for Ontario.
You PROMISED not to touch the Greenbelt. Stick to your promise and protect ALL PEOPLE in Ontario, not just the few developers who will make money off these horrible decisions. There is land available, use it wisely.
