I am someone for whom this proposed amendment is likely targeted to assist. A young Ontarian who for years felt priced out of the housing market due to high demand and rising prices. This is also my first time submitting a comment like this. However I have felt compelled to do so because I do not believe this is the correct way forward. The best way forward should be a focus on density utilizing mid-rise buildings with 2-3 bedrooms to allow for sufficient population density while also providing space for Ontarians to raise a family. Removing nearby greenspace from the Greenbelt to allow for the building of additional homes is a damaging move that will not truly be offset by adding space to the Greenbelt elsewhere. Even as someone whom this proposal is specifically designed to assist and benefit from, I do not believe that this is the correct path forward for Ontario.
