I do not support this destruction of an essential eco system in our province. Maybe instead of destroying a huge swathe of wetlands we do the smart thing here for once, I know that's asking alot of dougie who seems to care more about lining his developer and construction buddies pockets than he does about actually improving our province but hear me out. We have two huge issues in ontario that doug seems to want to solve (in completely the wrong ways), traffic in the GTA and housing unaffordability. Allowing developers to destroy vital eco systems to build more oversized suburban single family homes solves exactly zero of those issues. We as a province should be investing in the growth of high density housing in desirable areas, aka build houses closer to where people WANT to live and HAVE to work, this also includes actually making concerted efforts to invest in improving the infrastructure in these areas, ESPECIALLY public transport. The best way to cure traffic is to take cars off the road, not add more roads for cars to congest (cough cough, maybe instead of wasting billions on highway 413 we invest some of that into a more reliable rail system to get people to and from the city just an idea, but I know that might actually do some good for the average citizen instead of lining dougs rich friends pockets so we'll never let it happen because the every day ontarion means nothing to this government). To appeal to doug you could work with municipalities to rezone single family dwelling to high density housing and invest into improving the surrounding infrastructure, and that would even come with the bonus that dougs rich developer friends get even RICHER so it's a win win! In summary how about we stop trying to destroy a really rather important stretch of nature and build where we already have plenty of land to do so in a way that actually leads to a more sustainable future for our province.
