The Greenbelt is beyond important. Supports biodiversity , helps control flood areas, protect our water tables, creates areas for everyone to enjoy, houses important sensitive ecosystems, and much more. Housing is needed but not there. We do not need more sprawling suburbs, dependent on cars. We need affordable, higher density housing and greater investment in our healthcare and education systems to support this.
The Ford government promised that the Greenbelt was off limits for development. It is outrageous that this is even being considered.
