We don't need to dig into the green belt to fix the housing crisis. We need caps on how many homes 1 person can own, and completely ban companies from owning SFH. Tie homes to their owner's SIN number, and limit the amount of homes that one SIN number can be tied to (ie: 2 homes per person means a family with 4 SIN numbers can own 8 homes. That is more than enough!).

The government and the media need to stop trying to gaslight the public into thinking SFHs converted into rentals is a good thing, and that landlords are "helping" the supply issue. Hoarding property is contributing to our crisis. Too many would-be families aren't getting the chance to fix up their own home and many are deciding to not have children because of the constant stress and instability of renting. The media has a "love affair with landlords" and refuses to publish legitimately concerning stories about tenant struggles, the likes of which seem endless. Despite the laws put in place to protect tenants, there are so many holes and flaws that these new homeowner "investors" can do whatever they please, including harassment, false eviction, fraud, and illegal rent increases.

The divide between classes is getting so out of control that I worry if something doesn't alleviate the pressure on the working class, something's going to give. Ontario saw it this week, with the threat of a general strike. Give the public something to hope for that isn't just another false promise or flat out lie. Reduce the home hoarders in this province.
