I feel the conservation authorities would better serve our communities if they have less power and would not have the authority to approve, deny or demand changes for building permits etc.
Our municipal governments can do that very well.
Conservation like UTRCA can play a vital role in promoting safe waterways and wetlands but should only be in the advisory and supporting role to the municipalities.
The population they serve will respect them instead of resenting them or viewing them as the limiters of progress and development who use overhanded and unreasonable ways.
