Only access to greenspace for most GTA residents
Only available space for wildlife in the GTA
It has a cooling effect. With an impending energy shortage, and no real plan to remediate it, and the increasing temperatures of the GTA, we are going to put massive strain on our energy grid that could be alleviated by the greenbelt.
Increasing sprawl actively deteriorates our quality of life and air quality. We need density, not sprawl.
Most of all, you promised you wouldn't touch it. There are other ways to deal with the housing crisis. Increase density!
