Map 6 for Pickering re-zoning is a very large area to take away from the greenbelt. Although I understand the need for housing, grabbing a whole section of land for any use housing seems to linear in thinking. We need climate adaptation plans to protect watersheds and shield the future city from heat. Perhaps overlay a # looking type green zone grid over the proposed area, reforest that area, and reforest some of the areas west of Dufferin's creek. Plan for the expected 50% increase in precipitation for 2050. Map's 3,4,5 also look to be impeding on critical water sheds. Maybe don't do this. I would rather give up a little more of Pickering highlands to protect watersheds of other towns I don't belong to. The Mississippi river in the US is drying up, lets not damage our number 1 future advantage resource that Canada has, fresh water. Every industry, and activity, needs it. Be creative, and lets protect it.
