There are so many reasons…

There are so many reasons not to ruin the greenbelt. Destruction of significant wetlands, floodplain infringement, drinking water quantity/quality degradation. We don't need to use this space to make more suburban sprawl, we need to use the space we already have more effectively. Look at central park in NYC, probably some of the most expensive parkland in the world, but green space is so, so important. Please do not ruin the environment for my children.
