Minister Clark and Premier Ford,

Keep your promises.

Once an area is designated as protected, it should remain protected.
The Greenbelt gained its protected status to make it off limits for this exact reason.
This is an integral part of Southern Ontario's watershed, and the area in question was not arbitrarily chosen.
As a resident in Halton, I have seen the suburban sprawl first hand - resulting in development inching ever closer to the Niagara Escarpment, into areas that were previous designated as critical but were continually challenged and were eventually handed over.

Power and influence can get you whatever you need in this Province and Ontarians need now, more than ever - leadership in Government that will advocate for them and their future.

We do not want more sprawl, we want viable urban infrastructure.
Safer roadways, less congestion and better transit.
Ontarians want housing that is affordable and closer to amenities; municipalities want less costly residential zones to maintain.

Most of all, Ontarians do not want to trade the Greenbelt for more housing. The MMAH needs to find other prospects.
