Protected green areas are within that status for a reason. In a world damaged and devastated by human expansion and construction, we do not need more development in our ecological backyard. This proposal will not fix the housing crisis in Ontario, it will only serve to fill the pockets of land developers and real estate agents at the expense of wildlife and the biosphere.

The Greenbelt was my grandfather's joy. Driving through it and seeing unfettered wetlands, sprawling farms and a glowing sun would fill him with fondness for life. I see it the same way. We don't need more urban sprawl. We do need natural wonder.
