I am very sad to see the proposal being made by my Ontario government. The greenbelt has been a protected area that has benefited Ontariens and Ontario’s ecosystems since 2004. This course of action would reverse work ontariens fought hard for already. As a voter in Ontario it feels exhausting to continue to plea for affordable housing however this does not seem like a “solution” I would want to be a part of. Now that so many work from home we have plenty office buildings are urban areas that could be rezoned to hold multi family dwellings and affordable housing. This feels like an investment in land developers pocket and not in Ontario’s future.
