As a millennial that would love to one day buy a house, I wouldn't want to buy one on once protected environment land. The environment is slowly collapsing and this land development scheme is only going to make that worse. Please do not get rid of the Greenbelt. It needs to stay protected for us, for our children, our grand children, their children and grand children for many generations to come. Not to mention, this creates an outline to create more housing without trying to make that housing AFFORDABLE. A huge problem in Ontario is that housing isn't affordable to most people, except for the rich who actually will benefit from this Greenbelt plan the most and also happen to be friends/cohorts of Doug Ford who created this plan. What an interesting coincidence. I think Ontario's money would be better spent on fixing health care and public education, rather than creating highways and housing that still won't be affordable and will probably be yet another house owned by a landlord, only adding to the problem that already exists. Our Greenbelt needs to be protected at all costs.
