Although this does at least work to densify development on existing residential lands. It, again, makes no provision for the attendant costs for the supporting grey, green and blue infrastructure needed. To say that there are existing infrastructural services is deliberately blind to the fact that they have their limits and will need to expand to respond to more housing. Now the province seems to be adding to its longstanding trend of downloading costs and responsibilities to municipalities by removing recourse by those municipalities to the revenue they will need to meet those costs and responsibilities.
