As a resident of Ontario…

As a resident of Ontario since birth I have always been proud of our green belt. The protected green area is home to a wide variety of species and a beautiful balance is maintained. I am against the removal of any green space protected under the previous act that is being proposed by this bill. Our province needs more environmental protection and an expansion of the green belt without any swapping as proposed by this bill. Once altered this land cannot be returned to its original state. The province should find alternatives to solve the housing crisis such as utilizing previously used commercial space that is no longer in use and remediate the land to be used for residential.
