The attempt to remove land from the Greenbelt designation is Wrong!

I was raised on a small family farm in Southwestern Ontario where our family has lived for > 200 years, I am a physician in Ancaster, and frequently travel by bicycle and car around and across the Greenbelt, often to Lake Huron.
Ontario is a magnificent province, but the sprawl and abuse of our natural resources, is ruining it. We have to adopt the approach that every other old civilization has adopted to survive, that is intensify towns and cities with multiple-unit housing and transit over cars, and preserve farmland at all cost.
Instead we are headlong paving over farm land, killing our societal lungs (trees) with abandon, and destroying wetlands which are essential for water, soil, and wildlife.
The Greenbelt is our one signature commitment to environmental and farmland preservation in the GTHA and should remain intact, as is. Our colleagues are telling us that there is already no shortage of options for improving affordable housing, but it will take a change to the current suburban sprawl-style single family housing approach of developers.

I am very much against this proposal.
