I do not agree with developing the Greenbelt. This is protected land that provides flood protection and a local food source to Ontarians. If we start developing parcels of the Greenbelt now, what's to stop this government from developing the entire thing in a few years? We need to respect the protected land and consider the ramifications of removing it, even so much as one parcel of it.
This is not an effective housing strategy. We have thousands upon thousands of empty residential condos and office buildings in this province. We have thousands upon thousands of prohibitively expensive single family homes. We need to solve these problems before we go and create new ones in our environment.
