This is unacceptable. This Government has not received a mandate to do as they wish. More creative solutions must be found without compromising on the Green Belt while building adequate housing for the needs of the Province. This is not up for debate, and the Government with their majority would plow through anyways. Hard no. The Green Belt is not open for business; it is not open for development. We are in a climate crisis and this is a giant regressive step for this to even be considered.

There are many golf courses that are not within the green belt that could be repurposed for mixed used housing/green space. But it is clear that there is a large degree of nepotism and corruption with Ontario’s current government since this was not considered before this Green Belt development proposal. This was not an election issue that was campaigned on and cannot be allowed to move forward. NO DEVELOPMENT IN THE GREEN BELT.
