The greenbelt should not be developed. The greenbelt protects the best farmland in the entire country. I simply cannot support losing Canada’s best farmland and replacing it with low density tract housing. Once concrete foundations are poured into the earth, the soil will be poisoned and will not be able to be garnered again. We cannot risk losing the greenbelt as an important agricultural resource! It is possible to develop more medium and high density housing in the province to increase housing availability. Destroying our best farmland does not seem necessary and would be a horrible loss for both Ontario’s and all Canadians.
