This proposal should not be accepted; it is not in Ontario's best interest to sacrifice a critical ecosystem and damage our environmental health for the sake of urban sprawl. The way to solve the housing crisis is to build high-density, rent-controlled housing in areas where people are already located, so as to increase the supply in these areas and drive costs down. Please do not bulldoze the Greenbelt in order to cater to developer's desires and profits above all else. Now is the time to give thoughtful and evidence-based consideration to the damage that developing the Greenbelt and other ecologically significant areas will do to Ontario's biomes, communities, tourism, and sense of pride in our province's natural beauty. Future generations deserve to enjoy the same great outdoors that we do, and that can't happen if we decimate it. Say no to this proposal.
