I am a 26 year old young…

I am a 26 year old young woman terrified for my future. I am terrified because this government seems to have zero respect or forward thought into how valuable our environment is to our future.

I am exponentially angry at Doug Ford. I did not vote for him, and I will never vote for him. But by God, my generation will raise our voices if the green belt is developed.

You simply do not need more money. You have enough. Congrats, you’ve won capitalism. The solution to the housing crisis has been identified and guess what - it’s NOT developing sacred and environmentally critical lands.

Living in the country, I see first hand what happens when developers attempt to build on wetlands. It destroys not only the delicate ecosystem but also, it is just a plain bad investment. Those houses will collapse, fall apart, and even though you won’t care because you’ll already have your money - more people will be displaced.

You’re kicking the can down the road, and it’s embarrassing. Doug Ford is as embarrassing as it gets. Everyone knows it, and everyone sees it.

So sincerely, you’re awful Doug Ford and all you’ve done for Ontario. I saw how scared you all were with the threat of a general strike. That look on your face during those CUPE press conferences so clearly portrayed the absolute threat that a general strike is to you and your power. The citizens will not forget. We will strike again, and we do see your fear. We will exploit it. I know you have the money to do whatever you want and you likely do not give a care in the world about these comments, but I’m making my voice heard anyway because I will be out there making noise and telling everyone I know about how horrible this investment is. This governments short sightedness will be remembered by history - that’s the legacy you’re leaving.
