There are many justifiable reasons to keep the Greenbelt undeveloped from an environmental, economic, and tourist perspective. You seemed to know this when you PROMISED during the election campaign to preserve the very important Greenbelt. Breaking this promise for reasons detrimental to the citizens/taxpayers of Ontario is unforgivable.

As your government is aware, there is already plenty of space for development for needed homes. There is no reasonable argument that the Greenbelt lands are needed for home construction. Use what is already available and avoid the catastrophe of developing the Greenbelt.

Servicing sprawl is very expensive for taxpayers. You should stand up for taxpayers who cannot afford to pay unnecessary municipal and provincial taxes that will be forced upon us by your decision.

You and your government MUST reverse course on this tragic decision. You were elected to represent the best interests of Ontario. Leave the Greenbelt undeveloped.
