This isn't going to solve our housing issue. The proposed development is in an already expensive area, and we need affordable housing. It's not near transit hubs, and it's sacrificing essential protected areas.

These areas protect the headwater for 6 million Canadians. That's far more important than a drop in the bucket on the housing issue. In 30 years our kids will wonder why we built on ecologically essential areas, when there is land elsewhere and we know people can work from home. It's too expensive to fix water contamination. It's essential as a wildlife corridor. And the idea you can protect an area elsewhere in exchange is laughable. Does this other protected area provide clean water for millions of Canadians? Is it an essential wildlife corridor amidst paved urban sprawl?

Don't develop the green belt. It's short sighted and I will vote against PCs in he future if this goes through. I thought you were more fiscally responsible than this - water security is no joke and this won't solve our housing needs.
