I strongly oppose any development in the green belt. I live in Hamilton, just off Barton street. A street where there are more run down old buildings then open thriving ones. We could revitalize neighborhoods like mine by renovating these existing spaces. Creating high density housing that make it possible for businesses to open again. We already have bus routes and side walks. These spaces are sad and clearly haven’t always been this way. Why destroy more land, building huge houses that will house maybe one family per house, that you need to drive to why business that you would support? No. Those people just order from Amazon. They don’t support local. People who live in high density, walkable neighborhoods with excellent restaurants/cafes do. That’s the Ontario I want to live in. And please Doug please, no more terrible highways.
