This is a terrible idea. We are facing unprecedented extreme weather from climate change and this government is doing further damage to land that has been protected for years. This will set a dangerous precedent for the future. You cannot simply swap out protected land for another piece. The government’s own report says lack of land isn’t causing the housing crisis, rather it’s the lack of land use efficiency. This is a political stunt that that in the end will not benefit anyone.
