I beg you not to do this. Terrible idea. I am sure many others will attach scientific information and provide many logical reasons against the changes. But I feel this government does not care about logic, reason, and basic human decency.
The reasons this government should not do this is that you need to consider the long term financial consequences. Short term: Ford gets a paid vacation, developers make a lot of money from building on protected lands. Long term: climate consequences affecting the health of all people, taking up resources to address that. The smartest person in the room was the person who made it a bylaw that you can't just arbitrarily chop down the trees on your property. There are specific reasons we need protected lands and need to protect green space.
