The Greenbelt is not open for development, that is the whole point of having a designated protected area. I am a 20 year old university student studying Computer science and my peers and I all agree that these callous policies are one of the reasons why none of us intend on remaining in Ontario after graduation. This leadership stinks of greed.
Why develop the Greenbelt? Why let the developers carve it up and sell it for profit? Do you really think this will help our housing crisis? More sprawl? The desecration of our farmland and protected areas will enrich and help no one but the developers.
I am incredibly disappointed.
