The green belt is a foundational part of Ontario's wildlife conservation. Over the years it has become increasingly difficult to find untouched areas of land in southern Ontario. The only people who stand to benefit from this are Doug fords in construction and development. I am a resident of Ontario, a Canadian citizen since birth, and I do not want the green belt opened up for politicians to monetize without any social or environmental benefit to the residents of Ontario. We do not need more expensive developments along the green belt that are not open everyday public use. What we need is more high dentistry social housing in downtown Toronto that can support the housing crisis. Please do not let this act pass. It’s sneaky and underhanded and represents a continued disregard for the well-being and interests of all Ontario residents.
