This proposal puts the greenbelt at risk. Ontario wants to protect its greenbelt!
If this proposal passes, it will result in the loss of 7,530 hectares (75.3km2) of prime farmland and valley lands for a new and unless is dry airport.
Local health effects from air and noise pollution from planes will negatively impact the quality of life of many ontarians.
3,250 hectares of land and billions of dollars will go towards building an unnecessary airport like Montreal’s Mirabel Airport, which has been closed to passenger flights for 10 years.
Do not let the federal government infringe on the greenbelt!
