Removing portions of the greenbelt to build houses is a bad idea. This proposal is rushed with little conversations with municipalities. The municipalities make master plans for drinking water and wastewater facilities. They have a certain budget to do that. Now the provincial government will not only force municipalities to let thousands of houses rushed to be built but will not have the development charges to handle the increased capital costs nor the time to build new infrastructures to handle them. Where will the money come from, taxpayers?????

In addition, we already have huge wastewater overflows during rainstorms. These numbers will go up significantly with these houses being built without proper infrastructure investments. In addition, this lack of planning could increase the risks of basement flooding due to poor planning.

This plan is not planned properly and is just downloading problems to municipalities and taxpayers.
