The greenbelt acts as an effect Drainage and without it the area is more prone to flooding. Housing demand will increase if not in next decade in the couple of decades as population increases. However, green belt modification is not a sustainable solution. Once modification is approved, eventually there will be more modifications and the greenbelt in urban areas will be thin. We owe it to our future generations to provide a place to live with micro ecological system undisturbed. Alternatives to the problem are not fully explored. The link has some practical solutions which are not developer friendly. The land ownership of proposed land parcel indicates favouritism of some kind, dare I say corruption. Personally, our growing family had to move out of a 500sq ft condo. We wouldn’t have if the place was decent size. Stop building micro condos which will eventually force growing families to look for alternative housing.
