The Greenbelt is a critical piece of landscape that contributes heavily to Ontarios ecology and environment. I think the act of impeding on this land is diabolical, the greenbelt protects agricultural lands, wetlands, forests, rivers, and lakes which continue to need protection as Southern Ontario develops. If we rather focus on repurposing abandoned or rundown areas throughout the GTA and implement more affordable housing such as apartment buildings and condos it would help reach the goal of making more house available. The Greenbelt is way to critical to be dipped into, our time is running out regarding climate change, these areas act as carbon sinks that help us offset our carbon emission, we need to think of better ways to help reach our goals that do not include taking away from these areas. Without our environment healthy we are nothing, we need to do better.
