No to re-designating lands on the Greenbelt. There are already lots of lands available for housing in the GTA. Many of these lands in the Greenbelt are critical for both flood protection and water cleansing before it gets into the creeks, streams, rivers and the source of most of our drinking water, Lake Ontario. Those lands also provide recreation and stress reduction from all the driving we have to do because we are too spread out already.

We also need to think about food security. Paving over farmland is a short term gain for developers and makes life worse for the people who need places to live and have to travel further to get to work.

Employment and homes should be as close together as possible if it cannot be done virtually because then we don't need as many highways, GO transportation and therefore less pollution that cause global warming in the first place.

Using vacant lands from closed industries and businesses in the GTA should be used up first for housing. https://renx.ca/more-government-land-could-support-affordable-housing
Concurrently, densification should be utilized as a strategy rather than more paving over of the Greenbelt. More roads and monster homes are not solving the problem of enough livable places for most people.

Yes to adding to the Greenbelt and creating greater wildlife corridors and mitigation for increasing climate change events like droughts and extreme rain events. The Greenbelt is a long term investment in having livable places for people, the flora and fauna of Ontario.
