We’re privileged to live in one richest areas for farmland and growing. Many countries don’t have this and wouldn’t understand why we don’t protect this land instead of selling it off to the highest bidder. The houses built on this land won’t solve the housing crisis because the cost will be out of the average working families reach and only serve to make the Developers rich. To quote a character from the movie Gone With the Wind, “land is the only thing in the world worth workin' for, worth fightin' for, worth dyin' for, because it's the only thing that lasts”. Once the farmland in the Greenbelt is paved over, it’s gone forever. Promises made by the PC’s and promises broken.
