Passing this amendment would…

Passing this amendment would be a complete betrayal of the trust of Ontarians. Conservation authorities must retain their ability to use their expertise to prevent and guide development within increasingly high-risk areas. A development boom in the Greenbelt will open up these areas to intensified flooding and erosion, the effects of which will be felt throughout the watershed all the way to Lake Ontario. There are many options and ideas out there to “fix the housing crisis”, but this is the one which only benefits a select few landowners. Shame on the Ontario PC government for this attempted backroom deal.
