Last time construction was done NEAR the greenbelt most of the houses around that site that were on wells had their wells dry up, if you build on the greenbelt you have a chance of destroying the watershed that feeds all the way down to Niagara. Once you destroy that there is no fixing it so please don’t touch the greenbelt.
