I do not support this Bill. It overrides democracy and gives too much power to developers. There is nothing in it that guarantees affordable housing. It harms the Greenbelt, which should be protected. This provincial government promised it would not touch the Greenbelt.
The sprawl will cost more for infrastructure. Municipalities already submitted their growth plans that accommodate growth until 2051. There is absolutely no need to touch the Greenbelt.
There is an entire labour force and supply chain involved in building homes. There are approved developments that haven't been stated...why do you need more land?
This Bill harms democracy and the environment by silencing anyone other than developers.
Also, why isn't land speculation/vacant homes being addressed if this is about housing supply and affordability?
