Removing greenbelt lands have devastating affects to the natural environment and the animals that have habitats there. These lands were protected years ago and this proposal and bill called “more homes built faster act” doesn’t even solve the main issue you have. If you’re taking parts of the greenbelt and building houses there, it is a temporary solution that will not have a great impact for the future. You need to think long term. Build infrastructure that will actually last and not come up with a solution that impacts more about the future (the environment). Houses are already being built quicker but they’re not affordable. It won’t make a difference because no one can buy them. What are your priorities? The GTA is packed but there are so many lands in Ontario. If these lands are accessible with the proper infrastructure people will be there. There is no need to be removing greenbelt lands and building houses there.
If the government even care about an ounce of the future of Ontario and the society, then they should consider abandoning this bill. If not, then we should reconsider your priorities of short term satisfaction.
